Laura Masotto – Ithaki Feat. Hior Chronik
The suspended atmospheres of “Ithaki” are part of ‘WE’, the upcoming new album by the Italian violinist and composer, out on June 11th via 7K! Records.
After the effervescence and power of the first single ‘Blue Marble’ Laura Masotto returns with ‘Ithaki’, a piece created in collaboration with Greek ambient artist Hior Chronik. ‘Ithaki’ is the latest chapter of ‘WE’, the new album by the violinist and composer, and available for digital release by 7K! on June 11th 2021.
Whilst the first single was typical of the classic Italian style, with clear references to Vivaldi and Puccini, ‘Ithaki’ is a dreamlike song that cradles the listener as if floating in a gentle sea. The kalimba and electronics of Berlin-based Hior Chronik are interwoven with Masotto’s string compositions, creating an enveloping and hypnotic landscape.
‘Ithaki’ is a song that uniquely combines Masotto‘s classic skills with the soft approach of Hior Chronik‘s ambient sound, two visionaries creating a hybrid that perfectly fits the new European classical contemporary scene.
