About Vetle Nærø
With “Introspection” Vetle Nærø announces his debut album on 7K! Records. “Introspection” is an album inspired by an inward, emotional, gaze, conveying feelings which are often difficult to translate into words.
Born in Oslo in 2000, Nærø moved to Ålesund at 5 years old where began studying piano, starting with classics such as Chopin and Rachmaninoff. He then discovered the forefathers of minimalism such as Philip Glass and Arvo Part, before turning his ear to the sounds of Yann Tiersen, Dustin O’Halloran, Ólafur Arnalds, Otto Totland and Nils Frahm, the latter of whom released his first album when Vetle was just 9 years old.
Introspection revolves around a look inward to observe our own varying selves and how these creations overlap with each other. It’s Nærø‘s first album on 7K! – the follow-up to the self produced debut ‘By Heart’ – and includes the hypnotic lead single ‘Waves’ which was released in December last year. Nærø’s piano composition converts complexity and skill into minimalistic patterns which have great effect. It is important to Nærø to refine and reduce his compositions down, resulting in soundscapes that are concentrated and powerful in their communication and emotive potency. Listen & enjoy here
